How does Kai find pictures?
Updated Reading time: 2 min
On this page
Kai now also learns from images. It describes photos and images stored on the platform and can retrieve them when you ask, such as “Show me the photo of the control cabinet in Hall 2” or “Is there an image of the new company car?”.
Which images Kai knows#
Images in files, in the media library, and in document management (DMS)
Images on wiki pages
Images in posts
Photos from the photo archive
Images shared as attachments in chats
A match takes you directly to the file preview or the location where the image is stored.
People in images#
Kai describes people only in general terms, for example, “two people in work clothes at a machine.” It does not name individuals or recognize people.
You only see what you are allowed to open#
The same access rights apply to images as everywhere else on the platform: Kai only shows you results that you are also allowed to open yourself. An image from a group you are not a member of or from a chat you are not part of will not appear for you.
For admins: Excluding images#
By default, Kai learns from images. If you do not want this, you can disable it centrally:
Open Administration → AI & Workflows → Knowledge.
Switch to the Exclude from Kai tab.
Enable Exclude images from Kai.
This switch applies to all images: photos as well as images in files, wikis, posts, and chats. When enabled, Kai no longer describes images, shows images as results, and removes what it has learned from them. You can exclude individual groups, folders, or wiki areas in the same tab.
Info
Costs: The image description is billed against your company’s Kai credit. In the usage overview, it appears under the category “Images for Kai.”
