Default Group Role (Admin Setting)#
System administrators can set in Settings under the Groups tab which role new members receive by default when they join a group.
Available Roles#
The following roles are available for selection:
Read (formerly "Member"): Can read, like, and comment on group content, but cannot create their own posts or edit files.
Collaborate (formerly "Creator"): Can create posts and edit any file in the group, including those from others. Only their own content can be deleted.
Admin: Full administrative rights within the group, including deleting others' files and managing members.
Change Setting#
Navigate to Settings.
Select the Groups tab.
In the Default Group Role section, select the desired role.
Click Save.
Info
Tip: If all employees should be able to publish posts and work on shared documents in groups, set the default role to Collaborate. This setting also applies to new users added later via Active Directory.
Warnung
Note: This setting only affects new group memberships. Existing members retain their current role. Group admins can still individually change the role of individual members.
