How do I protect my account?

Updated Reading time: 2 min

On this page

In the Security section of your profile, you protect your account. Here you change your password and set up two-factor authentication.

How to open the security settings#

Click on My Account (your initials) at the top right.

Select Profile.

Open the Security section.

Change password#

Change your password regularly. It must be at least 8 characters long.

Open the security settings (see above).

In the Password section, enter your new password and confirm it.

Save the change. For security, you may be prompted to confirm your current password.

Tipp

If you have forgotten your password, use "Forgot password?" on the login page. You will receive an email with a link to set a new password. The link is valid for 60 minutes.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)#

Two-factor authentication provides additional protection for your account: When logging in, you enter a time-limited code in addition to your password, which is generated by an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator) on your smartphone.

If you log in via your company account and your company already requires a second factor there, Kibi Connect will not ask for it additionally—provided your administration has set it up that way.

Enable 2FA#

In the security settings, select Enable under Two-Factor Authentication.

Scan the displayed QR code with your authenticator app—or manually enter the displayed installation key in the app.

Enter the code generated by the app and select Confirm & finish.

Save the displayed recovery codes in a secure place.

Warnung

Store your recovery codes securely (e.g., in a password manager). You use them to log in if you lose your device with the authenticator app.

Disable 2FA#

You can disable two-factor authentication at any time in the security settings via Disable.
